Report: Credit Suisse names FIG vice chairman

Credit SuisseGroup AG named Patrick Porritt vice chairman of its financialinstitutions group, set to start in April, Reuters reported March 30, citing aninternal memo.

Porritt, who previously served as head of Bank of AmericaMerrill Lynch's financial institutions group for the Asia-Pacific region, willwork in Credit Suisse's investment banking and capital markets division.

A spokeswoman for the Swiss lender confirmed the contents ofthe memo, according to the newswire.

Credit Suisse also named Jeffrey Cohen as vice chairman inits retail and consumer products division. Cohen, who previously served asLazard Ltd's globalhead of retail, will be based in New York.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch is the marketing name for theglobal banking and global markets business of Bank of America Corp.
