New Hampshire Executive Council approves insurance department commissioner

The New Hampshire Executive Council has unanimously approved John Elias as state's new commissioner for the department of insurance, effective June 10, the Insurance Journal reported.

Elias will succeed Roger Sevigny, who will retire June 11 after leading the regulator for about 16 years.

Elias will serve as the commissioner for a five-year term and previously was the assistant commissioner at the New Hampshire Insurance Department.
