Facebook boosts video offering with Watch

Facebook Inc. announced Aug. 9 a new application to allow content creators and publishers to share video content.

The service, Watch, will be accessible through Facebook's mobile and TV apps and through browsers, with a Watchlist to notify users of new episodes of their followed shows.

It will also suggest new shows to users, based on videos watched by their friends and communities.

Watch will be introduced to a limited group in the U.S. before being rolled out to a wider audience, the company said.
