NTT Data fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

NTT DATA Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2016, came to ¥12.06 per share, a decrease from ¥12.66 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥16.91 billion, a decrease from ¥17.75 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 4.2% from 4.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue came to ¥401.22 billion, compared with ¥402.05 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses totaled ¥372.02 billion, compared with ¥368.88 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income decreased 43.2% from the prior-year period to ¥16.00 billion, or ¥11.41 per share, from ¥28.18 billion, or ¥20.09 per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.90.
