WEC Energy appoints interim CEO

WEC Energy Group Inc.'s board of directors appointed Gale Klappa on Oct. 12 to serve as interim CEO after current CEO Allen Leverett had an apparent stroke.

Klappa will fill the position until Leverett recovers from his illness. Klappa is currently nonexecutive chairman of the WEC Energy board, a position he took after retiring as the company's CEO in 2016.
