Total U.S. nuclear plant availability took a smallstep back early July 12 to 94.11%, slipping from 94.49% on July 11 and stillmuch lower than the 97.67% reported on the same day a year ago.
Pulling down total production was a curtailment at twoof Exelon Corp.'sreactors. Three Mile Island 1 in Pennsylvania was at 85% early July 12,dropping from 100% on July 11, while its Braidwood 1 in Illinois saw outputdecrease to 73% early July 12, also tumbling from full power the day prior.
Conversely, Exelon's Braidwood 2 unit in Illinoisreturned to 100% power early July 12 after falling to 90% on July 11.
As of early July 12, a total of three reactorsincluding American Electric PowerCo. Inc.'s Donald C. Cook 2 plant in Michigan, 's Grand Gulf 1 inMississippi and Public ServiceEnterprise Group Inc.'s Salem 1 in New Jersey remain shut.
