Mandom Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to a loss of ¥1.03 per share, compared with a loss of ¥8.89 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥48.0 million, compared with a loss of ¥415.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to negative 0.3% from negative 2.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 6.5% on an annual basis to ¥16.39 billion from ¥15.39 billion, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to ¥16.41 billion from ¥16.14 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥83.0 million, or a loss of ¥1.78 per share, compared to a loss of ¥590.0 million, or a loss of ¥12.62 per share, in the prior-year period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥89.03 per share, an increase from ¥85.58 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥4.16 billion, an increase from ¥4.00 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose from the prior-year period to ¥70.92 billion from ¥68.22 billion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥63.93 billion from ¥61.36 billion.
The company said reported net income increased 8.2% on an annual basis to ¥4.42 billion, or ¥94.64 per share, in the full year, from ¥4.09 billion, or ¥87.49 per share.
