Nippon Shikizai Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, came to a loss of ¥42.75 per share, compared with a loss of ¥7.97 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥36.9 million, compared with a loss of ¥6.9 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to negative 2.2% from negative 0.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue totaled ¥1.68 billion, compared with ¥1.68 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses rose year over year to ¥1.75 billion from ¥1.69 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥44.0 million, or a loss of ¥51.01 per share, compared to a loss of ¥16.0 million, or a loss of ¥18.55 per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of Jan. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.84.
