Endurance Specialty estimates $55.5M in Q2 net cat losses

Endurance SpecialtyHoldings Ltd. estimates $55.5 million of net negative financial impactfrom second-quarter catastrophe events.

The events, predominantly from Endurance's global catastrophereinsurance business, include the Fort McMurray wildfires in Canada, the convectivestorms in Texas and Europe, and the Kumamoto earthquake in Japan, which collectivelygenerated approximately $10 billion in industry losses.

The estimate reflects $11.1 million net reinstatement premiumsand $7.0 million net negative impact attributable to noncontrolling interests.
