HBO Asia, China Movie Channel team up for martial arts films

HBOAsia is partnering with the state-owned China Movie Channel todevelop and co-produce an anthology of martial arts films for TV.

The Chinese-languageproductions will feature Chinese talent professionally trained in mixed martialarts, with Hong Kongaction director Corey Yuen serving as executive producer for the first twofilms, according to a July 11 statement from the companies.

The films, titled "Master of the Drunken Fist: BeggarSo" and "Master of the Shadowless Kick: Wong Kei-Ying," arecurrently in production in China. They are scheduled to premiere at the end ofthis year on CMC's channels as well as on HBO and Red by HBO across 23 Asianterritories.
