Anheuser-Busch completes transfer of 54.5% stake in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa

Anheuser-Busch InBev completed the transfer of its 54.5% stake in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Ltd. to Coca Cola Co. for $3.15 billion.

The deal was announced Dec. 21, 2016.

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa was formed in 2016 through the combination of the African non-alcohol ready-to-drink bottling interests of SABMiller plc, Coca-Cola and Gutsche Family Investments.

Meanwhile, terms and conditions of an agreement are being finalized, pursuant to which Coca-Cola Co. will acquire Anheuser-Busch's interest in the bottling operations in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, El Salvador and Honduras. These transactions are subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals.

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest Coca-Cola bottler in Africa.
