Hyatt to open 21 luxury hotels in Asia-Pacific by 2020

Hyatt Hotels Corp. will expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region with plans to open 21 new luxury hotels and resorts by 2020-end.

In 2019, the company plans to open two Andaz hotels in Dubai and Seoul; three Grand Hyatt hotels in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, Gurgaon, India, and Hefei, China; and five Park Hyatt hotels in Auckland, Shenzhen, Jakarta, Doha, Qatar, and Kyoto, Japan.

In 2020, Hyatt will open two Alila resorts in Malaysia and Oman, an Andaz hotel in Bali, Indonesia, and three Andaz hotels in the Chinese cities of Sanya, Shenzhen and Xiamen. During the year, the company will also open three Grand Hyatt properties in Jeju, South Korea, Kuwait, and Shenzhou Peninsula, China, and two Park Hyatt hotels in Niseko, Japan, and Suzhou, China.

The new additions are set to raise Hyatt's luxury portfolio in the region by more than 25%, according to a release.
