Carrefour teams up with Google for online voice assistant

French grocer Carrefour SA teamed up with Google to create an online voice assistant, called Lea, for its customers, Reuters reported March 23.

The retail giant Jan. 23 unveiled a transformation plan, dubbed Carrefour 2022, which included a €2.8 billion investment in digital capability by 2022.

Lea has been designed to make day-to-day life easier for the company's customers, the report said, citing a company statement.

According to Carrefour, the assistant can be used to manage shopping lists.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
