JD Sports Fashion plc said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Aug. 1 came to 3 Great British pence per share, a gain of 82.1% from 2 pence per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £29.0 million, an increase of 82.2% from £15.9 million in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 20.8% on an annual basis to £809.9 million from £670.3 million, and total operating expenses grew 18.4% from the prior-year period to £762.3 million from £643.8 million.
Reported net income increased 87.9% on an annual basis to £34.3 million, or 4 pence per share, from £18.2 million, or 2 pence per share.
