MGM Resorts International acquired the San Antonio Stars of the Women's National Basketball Association and will move the team to Las Vegas, according to a statement from WNBA.
The WNBA and NBA board of governors approved the relocation. Former Detroit Pistons player and three-time WNBA champion Bill Laimbeer will act as head coach and president of basketball operations for the team, which is expected to start playing at MGM Resorts' Mandalay Bay Events Center in the 2018 season.
