HSBC names head of corporate, institutional banking for Germany

HSBC Holdings PLC named Nicolo Salsano head of corporate and institutional banking for Germany, effective in October.

He will be responsible for the lender's business in Germany related to corporate banking, transaction banking and advisory and capital markets financing. He replaces Norbert Reis, who stepped down in December 2017 and retired as a senior adviser to the bank in June 2018.

Salsano was most recently chief investment officer and executive director for Chinese insurer Anbang Insurance Group Co. Ltd. He will be based in Düsseldorf, Germany, and report to Matthew Wallace, head of global banking for Europe, and Carola von Schmettow, CEO of the lender's German unit.

HSBC Holdings operates in Germany through HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG.
