has appointed former Deutsche BankMéxico SA Institución de Banca Múltiple Chairman and CEO Jorge ArturoArce Gama as deputy general director of Global Corporate Banking, the firm saidin a press release April 4.
ArceGama has replaced Juan Garrido, who has moved to Santander's London-based subsidiary,the release said.
SantanderMéxico CEO He´ctor Grisi Checa said the move is aimed at making Santander more competitivein the corporate banking area. "The appointment of a professional with Jorge'sskills allows us to strengthen our [corporate banking] team," he was quotedas saying.
ArceGama has 25 years of experience in the investment and corporate banking area, havingworked for institutions such as Citibank Me´xico and Deustche Bank in New York,as well as Deutsche Bank México.
DeutscheBank announced in October2015 its exit from various Latin American markets, including Mexico, as part ofits global restructuring.
