Alamos Gold Inc. on Oct. 12 reported an 8% year-over-year increase in third-quarter production to 107,000 ounces, from 99,228 ounces gold in 2016.
A boost in output at Alamos' Young-Davidson gold mine in Ontario more than offset declines at its other operations.
Young-Davidson production was up to 55,800 ounces gold in the third quarter of 2017 from 43,629 ounces gold in the third quarter of 2016. Alamos reported moderately lower output at Mulatos and El Chanate in Mexico.
Alamos President and CEO John McCluskey said in a statement that the miner was in a good position to hit 2017 guidance, which it pegs between 400,000 and 430,000 ounces gold.
