HSBC to add more than 600 staff for Asia-Pacific wealth business

HSBC Holdings PLC will hire more than 600 staff for its Asia-Pacific wealth business by the end of 2022, Bloomberg News reported Sept. 26, citing Kevin Martin, the banking group's regional head of retail banking and wealth management.

The focus of the hiring will be in Hong Kong, Singapore and China. The group is likely to add more than 300 staff in its retail banking and wealth management division in 2019, Martin said.

HSBC opened an outlet in Shanghai in August for its new Jade wealth program. It is looking to open one in Beijing, and a few more in Hong Kong in 2020, Martin said.
