Alpine Electronics Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to ¥28.41 per share, a gain of 57.1% from ¥18.08 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.97 billion, an increase of 55.9% from ¥1.26 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 2.5% from 1.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased year over year to ¥77.89 billion from ¥75.42 billion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥74.73 billion from ¥73.40 billion.
Reported net income rose 67.1% on an annual basis to ¥4.08 billion, or ¥58.87 per share, from ¥2.44 billion, or ¥34.96 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥132.52 per share, an increase of 26.8% from ¥104.49 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥9.18 billion, a rise of 25.9% from ¥7.29 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew year over year to ¥294.56 billion from ¥285.88 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to ¥283.04 billion from ¥276.07 billion.
The company said reported net income grew 37.7% year over year to ¥12.70 billion, or ¥183.38 per share, in the full year, from ¥9.23 billion, or ¥132.27 per share.
