Singapore's StarHub launching Korean movie channel

StarHub TV, the cable TV operator owned by Singaporean telco StarHub Ltd., is set to launch tvN Movies HD, a high-definition channel dedicated to South Korean blockbusters, the company announced Dec. 15.

StarHub TV is partnering with South Korean production house CJ E&M and other industry players to roll out more than 200 titles a year spanning various genres.

The channel is scheduled to start airing on Jan. 11, 2017. StarHub TV subscribers will also be able to watch on demand using the streaming service StarHub Go.

CJ E&M said it expects tvN Movies to also launch in Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Indonesia in 2017.
