Aus Tin Mining Ltd.'s development application for the Taronga tin project's first stage was approved by the Glen Innes Severn Council.
The project in New South Wales, Australia, will have a trial mine and pilot plant to process about 340,000 tonnes of ore and produce a salable concentrate over 18 months to 24 months, according to the Dec. 22 release. Earlier, the company submitted an environmental impact statement for the project.
The first stage will assess areas of upside, which were identified as part of the 2014 pre-feasibility study, including the potential for a higher resource grade, increased tin recovery and grade and potential recovery of by-product credits including copper and silver.
A grade of 0.19% tin to 0.25% tin could have a significant impact on output and revenue, the company noted.
