Philippine central bank eases regulations on bond issuance

The Philippines' central bank approved amendments to regulations relating to the issuance of bonds and commercial paper by banks.

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said that the amendments include the removal of the minimum bond features, such as the requirement on eligible collaterals, as they may constrain banks from issuing debt securities.

The central bank noted that the amendments aim to give banks more flexibility to tap the capital market.
