Amazon.comInc., AlphabetInc.'s DeepMind/Google, Facebook Inc., IBM and joined forces to workon artificial intelligence technologies.

The new nonprofit organization, called Partnership on AI,will invite academics, nonprofits, and specialists in policy and ethics to joinits board as it conducts research, recommends best practices, and publishesresearch, according to a Sept. 28 news release.

The partnership is engaged in talks with professional andscientific organizations, such as the Association for the Advancement of ArtificialIntelligence, as well as nonprofit research groups including the AllenInstitute for Artificial Intelligence.
