London mayor defers hearing on Hammerson's Bishopsgate Goodsyard project

LondonMayor Boris Johnson has decided to defer a public hearing due to be held April 18 about Hammerson Plc's £800 million Bishopsgate Goodsyard project.

A noticeof the new date for the hearing will be given in due course, according an April12 documentreleased by the mayor's office.

Planningofficials of the mayor's office on April 8 recommended the rejection of Hammerson'sBishopsgate Goodsyard development in London's Shoreditch for planning permission,citing "unacceptable" design flaws.

The mayorwould have made a decision about the project after the public hearing, but the developeron April 11 requestedto defer it in order to allow time to amend the application to address the concernsraised in the planning proposals.
