Charoen Pokphand Indonesia said its normalized net income for the first quarter amounted to 19.63 rupiah per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 39.46 rupiah per share.
EPS declined 40.0% year over year from 32.71 rupiah.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 321.85 billion rupiah, a decline of 40.0% from 536.35 billion rupiah in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 4.3% from 8.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 12.1% year over year to 7.533 trillion rupiah from 6.720 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses increased 12.8% on an annual basis to 6.635 trillion rupiah from 5.882 trillion rupiah.
Reported net income fell 34.9% year over year to 430.49 billion rupiah, or 26.25 rupiah per share, from 661.46 billion rupiah, or 40.34 rupiah per share.
As of April 30, US$1 was equivalent to 12,980 rupiah.
