Report: UK government won't protect financial services from Brexit fallout

The U.K. government will not take special measures toprotect the financial services sector as the country prepares to leave the EU,Bloomberg News reported Oct. 3, citing "three senior figures" inPrime Minister Theresa May's administration.

One of the people told Bloomberg that May's team had ruledout any interim deal with the EU to help make the transition process easier. Asource also said the Conservative government under May is taking afundamentally different and less conciliatory approach to financial servicesthan was the case under former Prime Minister David Cameron and ex-ChancellorGeorge Osborne.
