Chuy's Holdings Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended June 26 came to 31 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 31 cents per share.
EPS increased 9.2% year over year from 28 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $5.2 million, a gain of 9.9% from $4.7 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 5.9% from 6.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 16.6% on an annual basis to $87.9 million from $75.4 million, and total operating expenses grew 17.4% on an annual basis to $79.6 million from $67.8 million.
Reported net income increased 6.9% on an annual basis to $5.7 million, or 34 cents per share, from $5.4 million, or 32 cents per share.
