Persistent Systems Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, came to 7.69 Indian rupees per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 9.16 rupees per share.
EPS rose year over year from 7.61 rupees.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 615.5 million rupees, an increase from 608.9 million rupees in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 9.5% from 12.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 19.7% year over year to 5.92 billion rupees from 4.95 billion rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 21.1% year over year to 5.08 billion rupees from 4.20 billion rupees.
Reported net income increased on an annual basis to 775.2 million rupees, or 9.69 rupees per share, from 744.8 million rupees, or 9.31 rupees per share.
As of Jan. 22, US$1 was equivalent to 67.58 Indian rupees.
