Generali to redeem €1.25B perpetual bond

Generali launched an early redemption of a €1.25 billion perpetual subordinated bond to take place Feb. 8, 2017, it said Dec. 23.

The perpetual bond, issued by Generali Finance BV, carries a coupon of 5.479% and has an outstanding principal amount of €869 million. The repurchase will be financed with the proceeds of an €850 million subordinated bond that Generali issued in June.
