Eastmain to undertake C$1.3M exploration program at Quebec mine

EastmainResources Inc. will spend C$1.3 million on exploration, including about5,000 meters of drilling, at its namesake gold project in Canada in 2016.

President and CEO Claude Lemasson said July 12 that thecompany is focusing the bulk of its exploration efforts on understanding the10-kilometer northwest trending mine horizon within the project.

The program will follow up on 15 identified targets locatedwithin prospective geological units associated with the ultramafic sequences onthe Eastmain claims as well as the Ruby Hill East and Ruby Hill West claimsthat make up the RubyHill project.

Mechanical Trenching, set to begin in late July, will followup on previously defined high-grade gold surface showings and electromagneticconductors.

Drilling will begin in late August with up to 17 short diamonddrill holes in the Eastmain and Ruby Hill East blocks.

Meanwhile, Eastmain said it is initiating a full assessmentof the Eastmain project, including a review of historic resources and siteinfrastructure and conditions to help determine future exploration anddevelopment programs.

The review is expected to be completed by the end of theyear.
