First Cobalt to start 30,000-meter drill program at Iron Creek

First Cobalt Corp. on June 11 announced a C$9 million work program for its Iron Creek cobalt project in Idaho, which will include 30,000 meters of drilling to double the mineralized zone along strike beyond the area drilled in 2017.

The 70-hole program will include both infill drilling to convert a portion of inferred resources into the measured and indicated categories, as well as extensional drilling to support a second resource estimate by 2019.

Drilling will be designed to extend the strike to about 900 meters from the current 460 meters. Down-dip extension of mineralization 200 meters below existing underground adits will also be tested.

A maiden NI 43-101 mineral resource is expected by October.
