Tokyo-based Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd. plans to open arepresentative office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, this month, The Nikkei reported July 21.
The move will make Dai-ichi Life the first Japanese life insurerto have a presence in the Southeast Asian country. The Japanese company plansto begin offering policies as early as April 2017 after an assessment ofpotential profitability in the country.
