egetæpper a/s said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended July 31 amounted to 5.08 Danish kroner per share, an increase of 16.1% from 4.37 kroner per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 13.3 million kroner, an increase of 16.1% from 11.5 million kroner in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 6.7% from 6.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose on an annual basis to 197.6 million kroner from 190.4 million kroner, and total operating expenses grew year over year to 173.3 million kroner from 169.3 million kroner.

Reported net income came to 15.9 million kroner, or 6.05 kroner per share, compared to 15.8 million kroner, or 6.01 kroner per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Aug. 29, US$1 was equivalent to 5.66 Danish kroner.
