GSA picks 10 companies for $50B EIS contract

The U.S. General Services Administration on Aug. 1 announced awards for the new 15-year, $50 billion Enterprise Infrastructure Solution contract.

AT&T Inc., BT Federal Inc., CenturyLink Inc., Core Technologies Inc., Granite Telecommunications LLC, Harris Corp., Level 3 Communications Inc., Manhattan Telecommunications, MicroTech and Verizon Communications Inc. will be vendors for the Enterprise Infrastructure Services contract.

Federal agencies use the EIS program to buy telecommunications and advanced technologies from GSA-authorized technology providers. EIS succeeds GSA's Networx, Washington Interagency Telecommunications System 3 and local telecom services contracts, which will phase out in 2020.

EIS supports the technology requirements of about 53 federal agency customers, including 8,000 sub-agencies and 16,000 customer accounts.
