Allianz Group names chief investment officer

Allianz Group named Carsten Quitter chief investment officer.

He will also become managing director and co-lead of Allianz Investment Management SE alongside Claus Stickler, effective Jan. 1, 2018. He succeeds Andreas Gruber, who is retiring after working with the insurer for 29 years.

Quitter has been with Allianz Group since 2005, most recently as chief investment officer for Italy. He will be replaced in that role by Fabiana Rossaro, who will join the Allianz SpA executive team and the executive management board of Allianz Investment Management.

Rossaro has been head of investment strategy and of property and casualty insurance at Allianz Italy since 2013.
