Mark Traynor was named president and CEO of UCare. Traynor had been serving as the Minneapolis-based health insurer's interim president and CEO since April, following the resignation of Jim Eppel.
AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd. appointed two individuals to newly created roles in the U.S. programs, property and casualty team of its AXIS Insurance business. Tim McGee was promoted to senior vice president and U.S. programs underwriting officer, and Franklin Maccotan was named vice president of U.S. programs.
Hanover Insurance Group Inc. named John Roche to replace Joseph Zubretsky as president and CEO. Zubretsky will join Molina Healthcare Inc. as president and CEO.
Delta Dental of Virginia named Frank Lucia president and CEO. Lucia succeeds George Levicki, who announced his retirement in March. Lucia was president and CEO of Dean Health Plan Inc.
Delta Dental of Kentucky Inc. named J. Jude Thompson CEO. Thompson had been interim CEO of Delta Dental of Kentucky since March.
Insurance startup Vault, which will offer high-value homeowners' and specialty coverages, will be led by former American International Group Inc. private client president and Tower Hill CEO Charles Williamson, The Insurance Insider reported. The startup is backed by Allied World Assurance Co. Holdings AG and Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. named Gareth Birch managing director of its U.K. small business and personal lines division, Insurance Business reported.
Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. hired Steve Eccles as chief underwriting officer for its international business. Eccles worked most recently for Travelers Insurance as active underwriter of Syndicate 5000.
Chubb Ltd. appointed John Alfieri executive vice president of North America major accounts. Alfieri was most recently regional executive officer for the New York region, a role that Peter Tucker will take on. Also in the New York region, Amy Feller will become regional COO and New York City branch manager.
AXA tapped Kevin Molloy as head of investor relations for AXA U.S. Molloy joined AXA in the U.S. in 1999 as director of corporate finance and was later named to roles in investor relations and distribution finance.
