Chuo Gyorui Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to ¥9.04 per share, a decline of 81.9% from ¥49.97 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥36.1 million, a decline of 82.4% from ¥205.0 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 0.1% from 0.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue came to ¥46.86 billion, compared with ¥46.43 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses came to ¥46.80 billion, compared with ¥46.54 billion in the prior-year period.
Reported net income came to ¥186.0 million, or ¥46.55 per share, compared to a loss of ¥314.0 million, or a loss of ¥76.54 per share, in the year-earlier period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥140.19 per share, a fall of 31.7% from ¥205.34 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥562.6 million, a decline of 33.2% from ¥842.4 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue totaled ¥198.95 billion, compared with ¥198.30 billion in the prior year, and total operating expenses totaled ¥197.90 billion, compared with ¥197.54 billion in the year-earlier period.
The company said reported net income increased 76.9% year over year to ¥948.0 million, or ¥236.21 per share, in the full year, from ¥536.0 million, or ¥130.66 per share.
