Jersey Central Power & Light Co. on Aug. 3 announced the completion of circuit upgrade projects in multiple New Jersey counties as part of its plan to invest $359 million during 2017 on infrastructure projects to enhance service reliability.
The upgrades include installing fault indicators, reclosers, more resilient fuses, animal guards and lightning protection devices in more than 50 municipalities to benefit about 63,000 customers across its 13-county service area, according to a news release.
The FirstEnergy Corp. subsidiary completed upgrades in the New Jersey counties of Burlington, Hunterdon, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Somerset, Sussex and Warren.
