BBVA Chilean insurance unit seeks approval to dissolve company

Shareholdersof Chilean insurer BBVA Seguros Generales agreed on April 29 to seek approval fromthe securities regulator, SVS, to dissolve the company and proceed with its liquidation,the company said in a securities filing May 4, which was signed by CEO CarolinaGuzmán Tanaka, without giving a reason for the decision.

BBVASeguros Generales, which along with life insurer BBVA Seguros de Vida SA was recently forced to temporarilyrelocate its offices dueto flooding in Santiago, is ultimately owned by Spain's Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA.
