Hennie Van der Merwe is joining Textainer Group Holdings Ltd.'s board, effective immediately.

Van der Merwe will fill the vacancy on the board created by the retirement of Isam Kabbani in November 2016. His appointment expires at the 2018 annual meeting.

Van der Merwe is the CEO of Trencor Ltd., which is the discretionary beneficiary of a 48% interest in Textainer Group.
