Capstone Infrastructure posts higher EBITDA, revenue in Q1

Capstone Infrastructure Corp. on May 10 reported first-quarter 2018 EBITDA of C$31.3 million, up from C$29.1 million in the prior-year period.

The company attributed the increase to higher power segments results, primarily due to new wind facilities added since Jan. 1, 2017.

Net income from continuing operations was C$2.2 million, compared with a loss of C$13.6 million a year ago. Revenue totaled C$48.9 million, an increase from C$43.1 million in the 2017 first quarter.

Capstone generated 413.5 GWh of power in the first quarter of 2018, up from 330.1 GWh in the same period in 2017.

Aside from the first-quarter results, the company declared a quarterly dividend on its cumulative five-year rate reset preferred shares, series A, of 20.44 Canadian cents. The dividend is payable on or about July 31 to shareholders of record at the close of business July 13.
