Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada has invested C$15 million in equity of Canada-based human resources platform Rise People Inc. and has the option to invest an additional C$9 million under agreed terms.

Under the investment and strategic relationship, Sun Life Assurance and Rise People will collaborate to bring digital connections and services to businesses across Canada. Sun Life Assurance and Rise People intend to officially launch an integrated solution to small to midsize employers and clients across Canada in the first quarter of 2019.
