Piedmont Natural Gas Co. Inc. on Nov. 13 announced two rate changes in South Carolina to adjust for natural gas commodity prices and lower federal taxes.
The natural gas distribution company said the changes would decrease an average residential customer's annual bill by about 14%. These customers will have a roughly $16 decrease in their monthly bills compared to the last winter.
The Duke Energy Corp. utility said the change, which includes the flow-through of tax reform benefits to customers from the 2017 tax cuts act, became effective Nov. 1.
