Cominar REIT board proposes increase in number of trustees

The nominating and governance committee of Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust's board has proposedan increase in the number of trustees to 10 from nine.

"With the significant growth that the REIT has experiencedover the last years, the nominating and governance committee considers appropriatefor the board to complement its strong skills in finance and management by addinga new trustee," the company said.

The board nominated Luc Bachand for election to fill the newtrustee seat at the annual and special meeting of the company's unit holders May10. Bachand served as vice chairman and headof BMO Capital Markets in Quebec from 2006 until his retirement in 2016.

The company noted that the board's nine incumbent members arestanding for re-election whether the expansion proposal passes or not.
