Coast Capital Savings CU members vote in favor of federal charter

Surrey, British Columbia-based Coast Capital Savings Credit Union on Dec. 14 said that it has secured members' approval to become a federal credit union, with 79.2% of members voting in favor, above the two-thirds vote needed to pass the resolution.

A total of 79,726 members voted on the matter from Oct. 17 to Nov. 28.

As a result, Coast Capital Savings CU can now seek regulatory approval for a federal charter.
