XL Catlin's reinsurance operations said Jonathan Gale will be appointed chief executive of the Bermuda reinsurance business, subject to Bermuda Immigration approval.

Gale is currently chief executive of XL Catlin's London reinsurance business. Additionally, Rob Littlemore, currently underwriting director for London reinsurance operations, was promoted to chief executive of the London reinsurance business.

Both appointments are effective January 2017.

Charles Cooper, currently chief executive of the Bermuda reinsurance business, will become chief executive of XL Catlin's reinsurance business group as of Jan. 1, 2017.

XL Catlin is the global brand used by XL Group Ltd's insurance and reinsurance companies.
