Potash producer Nutrien Ltd. is considering expanding its annual production capacity by 5 million tonnes after 2023, the company said May 28.
The additional capacity would come from expansions to Nutrien's existing Canadian mines, according to a presentation posted to the company's website.
Poor market prices have led the company to idling 5 million tonnes of potash capacity in recent years. This could be brought back to service by 2023, taking total production capacity to 18 million tonnes per annum.
The company may add another 5 million tonnes afterwards.
