Tidewater Midstream & Infrastructure Ltd. completed the commissioning and startup of its Pipestone sour deep-cut gas processing complex located in the Montney production area.
The gas plant started operations on Sept. 15, processing approximately 30 MMcf/d of sour gas. It is designed to process about 100 MMcf/d of sour gas. Tidewater Midstream expects to ramp up to or near full capacity by the end of this year, according to a Sept. 23 news release.
The Pipestone gas plant is fully contracted and includes an acid gas injection well, saltwater disposal well and pipelines connected to the Pipestone gas storage facility. It is also connected to the pipeline networks of Pembina Pipeline Corp.'s Alliance Pipeline Limited Partnership and TC Energy Corp.
"With the start-up of this strategic asset, Tidewater is well-positioned in the Grande Prairie area to offer Montney producers natural gas and liquids processing, egress and storage opportunities," Tidewater Midstream Vice President of Business Development Toby McKenna said.
Tidewater's divestment of the plant's 32 MW of cogeneration units for C$85 million supported the project construction, which was completed on time and on budget. Calgary, Alberta-based Tidewater Midstream provides NGL gathering, processing and transportation services in North America.
