BTG Pactual Chile SA's Executive Director Juan Guillermo Agüero said the bank is looking to more than double its credit business, Diario Financiero reported him as saying in an interview with Bloomberg News.
BTG Pactual Chile aims to increase its credit business to $700 million by 2018, from the $300 million figure it currently stands at.
The bank is also planning to keep growing in all of its business areas. For its asset management business, which saw inflows of over $1 million for 2017 so far, BTG Pactual Chile will focus more on alternative assets such as real estate, private capital and private debt, Agüero noted.
Meanwhile, for investment banking, BTG Pactual Chile will focus on closing business it undertook earlier in 2017, such as a recently announced deal with UnitedHealth Group Inc. over Empresas Banmédica.
Agüero added that Sebastian Piñera's recent presidential victory carries good news for the Chilean market, due to growth, productivity and entrepreneurship programs that will likely be supported under Piñera's administration.
